I wake up and make my dreams come true, wondering what did I do to deserve this good fortune. I am most nourished by trying to make tomorrow better than today and changing life trajectories which is a privilege.

Elevator Pitch

Chris Mumford teaches innovation, design thinking and sports entrepreneurship at UNC – Chapel Hill. During the last 25+ years, Mumford started businesses in education, sport, technology, consumer products and healthcare.  

His mission is to change life trajectories. His core values are to be agile, authentic and absolutely relentless. Soar with the condors and dance with the ants.  

During the last 25 years, he founded several businesses in the US and Asia. Mumford served in roles as CEO, CFO, COO, VP Sales and VP Design while raising over $30 million from VC and Private Equity. He was an investment banker for 5 years.  

He grew up in Chapel Hill NC where he graduated from UNC-CH with a degree in Philosophy with Honors and Economics. Mumford has two children with his wife Joelle. He enjoys pickup soccer, mountain biking, fly fishing, improv and coaching. One day, he hopes to finish editing his novel about his experiences wandering the world.
