Minor(s): Entrepreneurship & Health & Society

“Going to Thailand on our study abroad trip opened my eyes to a global perspective on life which often times gets skewed as an American. This trip taught me how to reflect well, truly think beyond myself, and enjoy some time not being obsessed with the next “to-do.” My appreciation for food culture and hospitality is on a different level and the idea of running a business as a sustainable social business is top of mind in my daily life back in the U.S.”

“My Shuford Away Experience was the most influential and amazing experience of my life by far. I got so close not only with my cohort, but with the faculty who became my mentors. Getting to intern in a public healthcare hospital was such a unique experience that I am now able to bring those experiences back to America. If anyone is thinking about studying abroad, I would recommend Shuford Away over and over again. Best study abroad program out there.”

Semester Away in London, Spring 2025

Class of 2026

Major(s): History
Minor(s): Entrepreneurship

“While in London, I had an incredible experience growing professionally, personally, and academically. I went on this trip knowing no one and returned with lifelong best friends I never would have met at UNC otherwise. One of the highlights was interning at a small Trans-Atlantic wealth management firm in the heart of London’s historic financial district. Not only did I deepen my knowledge of finance, but I also immersed myself in the local work culture. By the end of the internship, I felt less like a visiting student and more like a local Londoner. The Shuford Away program was invaluable in shaping my growth across every aspect of my life.”
