Cresa Intern, Summer 2025

Class of 2026

Major(s): Communication Studies
Minor(s): Entrepreneurship

“This summer, I interned at the Commercial Real Estate firm, Cresa, in Atlanta, GA. The best part of being in Atlanta was seeing the city’s CRE market grow nonstop. Working in Industrial Tenant Representation, I toured sites across the metro area and saw the boom in data centers and distribution facilities. The coolest part was all the building tours, especially Cresa’s project at the massive NCR building off Highway 85. Touring everything from the dining floors to the high-security infrastructure was inspiring. I also helped design invitations and marketing materials for the Economic Leaders Breakfast, a project that showed me how CRE connects to real business growth. After seeing Cresa’s video, I tracked down the Market Leader’s email and drove from North Carolina to Atlanta the next day to meet him. The vibe in the office was great, and he offered me the internship on the spot. That bold move became the story of my summer and taught me the value of betting on yourself.”

JC Designs Intern, Summer 2025

Class of 2027

Majors(s): Business Administration
Minor(s): Entrepreneurship and Advertising & Public Relations

“I interned at JC Designs, a student-run creative studio I founded that offers marketing, web design, and consulting services for local businesses and student organizations across Chapel Hill and beyond. Although my business is based in Chapel Hill, I spent most of the summer studying abroad in London at LSE, which meant working remotely across time zones. This challenged me to streamline client communication and project management while still building strong connections with clients back in North Carolina. One standout project was developing a new late-night marketing strategy for Que Chula Tacos on Franklin Street. We focused on positioning the restaurant as a go-to post-bar food spot with a new digital campaign and brand voice set to launch soon. It was a great mix of data-driven decision-making and creative execution, and I’m excited to see it roll out over the next few weeks and months! I created it through my own business. The Shuford Program empowered me to treat JC Designs as a legitimate internship experience and helped me structure my growth around meaningful milestones and advisor check-ins for a venture I was already passionate about.”
