As President and Chief Operating Officer and Partner at PRIMO Partners, the nation’s largest Black-owned multi-unit franchise developer of Ben & Jerry’s, Phillip Scotton stands as a tactical leader and entrepreneur. A proud University of North Carolina alum, he also holds a graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Since becoming a full-time operator in 2016, Phillip has spearheaded PRIMO’s significant expansion to over 23 locations across the Southeast, achieving consistent double-digit sales growth and securing the top global ranking for Ben & Jerry’s. Under his leadership, PRIMO is deeply committed to racial, socioeconomic, and educational equity, utilizing its business to bridge the generational wealth gap for minorities, support communities, and foster staff development. Recognized for his innovation, Phillip was recently honored with the International Franchise Association – Franchisee of the Year Award. Beyond his work with Ben & Jerry’s, he is also a Starbucks licensee with two current locations and a third soon to open, and an active real estate developer, currently developing over 100 acres in North Carolina.
