Elevator Pitch

Victoria Fritz, MD is a founder and proud alum of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine. After completing medical school, she went to residency for cardiothoracic surgery. While in training, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and no longer able to operate given the delicate nature of heart surgery.

Victoria returned to Chapel Hill and launched BabyBumps, a startup focused on ethical and transparent surrogacy matchmaking. She is part of R!OT’s accelerator program, First Flight Venture Services’ pre-accelerator program, and American Underground’s Idea-2-Entrepreneur program. Her husband is a fellow at NC IDEA and summer associate at a VC firm in Salt Lake City, UT, giving her much appreciated insights into startups from the investor’s point of view. Additionally, she serves as a medical advisory board member to a medical device startup.

Victoria is passionate about mentorship and startups and enjoys working with students. She has received tremendous support from the RTP startup community and wants to pay it forward.
